Churchill High School Additions & Renovations – CTE Building

Owner: Northeast Independent School District

Description: Project included a two story classroom bar, two gymnasiums, an auditorium, a mall and support areas. The floor framing plan is soil supported, with drilled piers supporting the columns. The superstructure for the entire building is a reinforced concrete system. Post-tension beams frame the second floor of the classroom bar to enable longer spans and few columns. The roof framing the mall consists of bar joists spaced at 15 feet and long pan steel trusses. Long span bar joists were utilized as part of the roof framing system in the auditorium and gymnasium, with a 4 1/2” acoustical epic deck used to maximize bar joist spacing.
